Mr. Jones handles legal matters in a number of areas including criminal defense, traffic law, juvenile law and general civil litigation. While Mr. Jones devotes much of his practice to criminal defense and assisting clients with difficult legal situations, he accepts other types of cases involving disputes requiring litigation in the civil courts and before governmental boards and administrative agencies.

Mr. Jones is a native of Washington, North Carolina and graduated from East Carolina University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. After working with the Juvenile Services Division of the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts, he received his Juris Doctor degree from the North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2002 and was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar the same year. Mr. Jones is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and has served as an officer in various capacities with the Second Judicial District Bar (including Beaufort, Hyde, Martin, Tyrrell and Washington counties).

In addition to practicing law, Mr. Jones is a Professional Lecturer in the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program at Beaufort County Community College where he teaches classes including Arrest, Search and Seizure and In-Court Testimony. He is a founding director of the Washington Youth Football League (WYFL) and continues to serve on the Board of Directors. Brian and his wife, Allison, have three (3) children.
